Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride
On the 3rd Saturday in September every year thousands of riders gather in Bridgeport, AL to ride the annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride. The ride is the largest organized motorcycle ride in the world having gathered as many as 150K riders to enjoy the event. The ride traverses northern Alabama from Bridgeport to Waterloo. The end of the ride includes a Pow Wow and festival at the Park grounds in Waterloo.
On the Monday before the ride a group of riders from Texas leaves San Antonio to make the trip to North Carolina's Smoky Mountains where the unofficial ride begins, in Cherokee, NC, on the Friday before the official ride.
